Turbine manufacturer Gamesa was named turbine supplier for six India wind farms totaling 194 MW.
Two of the contracts call for Gamesa to build and install two wind farms in turnkey arrangements with an independent power producer. Located in the states of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, the two wind farms will be equipped with Gamesa G97-2.0 MW Class S wind turbines at tower heights of 104 meters. The company says these turbines were custom-designed for India's low-wind sites.
The contracts – which include long-term maintenance – are scheduled for commissioning in July 2015 and February 2016.
Gamesa will also supply 18 G97-2.0 MW turbines, located at four wind farms in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The contracts also include long-term maintenance agreements, Gamesa notes.
