Gamesa says it continues to grow its presence in India, having signed new contracts to supply five wind farms totaling 172 MW.
The company will supply 86 of its G97-2.0 MW wind turbines at wind farms located in the Indian states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. However, Gamesa did not disclose customer names.
The wind turbines, which will be made locally at Gamesa's Indian factories, are scheduled for delivery over the course of 2015. The agreements also include related operations and maintenance (O&M) services.
So far this year, Gamesa says it has closed supply agreements in India encompassing close to 500 MW, making it the company's No. 2 market in terms of signed orders, second only to Brazil. In the first half of 2014, India accounted for 30% of Gamesa's consolidated revenue.
Altogether, the company says it has installed over 1.44 GW and manages more than 1.15 GW under O&M agreements in the country.Â
