Gamesa Building Wind Farm In Mexico Under Turnkey Arrangement Gamesa has received an order from developers Mexico Power Group and First Reserve for the turnkey construction of La Bufa, a 130 MW wind farm in Mexico.

Located in the state of Zacatecas in central Mexico, the project will comprise 65 of Gamesa's G114-2.0 MW turbines. The towers are slated for delivery in 2016, with commissioning to be completed the same year.

Gamesa says it will handle all of the infrastructure needed to install and operate the project. The agreement also encompasses the provision of the related operations and maintenance services over the long term.

The power generated by the wind farm will be supplied exclusively to Volkswagen's factories in the cities of Puebla and Silao.

Gamesa recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Mexican Electricity Board for the co-development of wind energy projects in the country.
