A non-regulated subsidiary of Alliant Energy Corporation has achieved commercial operation of the 100 MW Franklin County wind farm, located in Franklin County, Iowa, near Interstate Power and Light Company's Whispering Willow Wind Farm-East site.
The $235 million wind farm, which will be owned and operated by Franklin County Wind LLC, consists of 60 Vestas V82-1.65 MW turbines.
While a buyer is still sought to purchase the wind farm's output, Franklin County Wind LLC says it will sell the power generated into the MISO market.
