Flash Technology, a company that provides specialized obstruction lighting products to serve the wind energy, telecommunications and utility markets, has received CSA International approval from Canada for the company's FTB360i wind turbine light fixture.
As a result of the approval, the FTB360i light fixture is now eligible to bear the CSA mark in Canada and the U.S.
The light fixture is designed specifically for wind turbine installations to meet the Federal Aviation Administration AC 70/7460-1K requirement. The components of the lighting system are combined into one compact enclosure, and it can interface with existing installations, according to the company.
The beacon is certified via ETL to withstand conditions, such as temperatures ranging from -40 to +55 degrees Celsius, wind-blown rain, winds in excess of 150 mph, high humidity, salt fog and ultraviolet light.
