Chicago-based utility Exelon Corp. has unveiled ‘Exelon 2020: A Low-Carbon Roadmap,’ a plan that details an enterprise-wide approach and host of initiatives being pursued by the Exelon family of companies to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and those of its customers, communities, suppliers and markets.
Exelon 2020 sets a goal of reducing, offsetting or displacing more than 15 million metric tons of GHG emissions per year by 2020. As part of this plan, the company plans on growing its portfolio of solar, wind, biomass and landfill-gas generation.
Exelon also plans to reduce or offset its carbon footprint by reducing energy consumption and offering customers a diverse portfolio of green products and services.
