E.ON Climate & Renewables North America (EC&R North America) has officially commenced construction on its Stony Creek wind farm, located in Central City, Pa., along Lincoln Highway in Somerset County.
‘There were a number of challenges in developing a project on a former coal mine, but smart engineering and solid community support made this project a success,’ says Rob Trotta, lead developer for EC&R North America.
The 35 turbine wind farm is expected to provide 52.5 MW of power and is one of four EC&R projects in construction, along with eight operating wind farms.
