EDF Energies Nouvelles subsidiary enXco and Indianapolis Power & Light (IPL) have entered into a power purchase agreement for a 100 MW wind facility to be built in Union and Gilboa townships in Benton County, Ind. enXco will own and operate the Hoosier Wind Project while IPL will purchase the project's output over a 20-year period.
‘enXco is excited to be developing this project for IPL,’ says Steve Peluso, enXco's Midwest regional development director. ‘We are looking forward to building on what is already a strong relationship with both IPL and the communities that have been so supportive of this project.’
The company expects to complete the final stage of development this year. The project, subject to regulatory approval and extension of the production tax credit, is scheduled to be constructed in 2009.
