Groupe Collegia, the continuing education consortium of the Cegep de la Gaspesie et des Iles and the Cegep de Matane, recently signed an agreement with the firm, ENSA Access Rescue.
This five-year agreement, which can be renewed thereafter, involves training a team of college instructors in disciplines connected to safe work at high elevations specific to the wind energy sector.
ENSA has offered the Cegep de la Gaspesie et des Iles an exclusive partnership for Quebec that includes training, oversight, certification and follow-up of its instructors, as well as intelligence monitoring to remain abreast of the latest innovations in safe practices as they apply to the wind energy industry in North America.
This new agreement is part of a process to upgrade the college studies certificate program in wind turbine maintenance offered by Groupe Collegia. Students enrolled in the training program will be able to study and practice operations at high elevations and in confined spaces that meet industry standards.
This program is also open to companies involved in the wind energy industry in Quebec that wish to provide their employees with further training in this area.
Classes are expected to begin in August.
