Gamesa and EDP Renewables (EDPR) have signed a framework agreement for the supply of up to 225 Gamesa G114-2.0 MW wind turbine generators, for up to 450 MW through 2016. The deal represents the largest contract to date for its G114 turbine platform.
According to Gamesa, the G114-2.0 MW turbine is designed to yield more power at lower cost at low to medium wind speed sites, reducing the cost of energy.
Gamesa notes that it has previously supplied turbines to EDPR, most notably on the 400 MW Lone Star Wind Farm complex in Texas.Â
