EDP Renewables North America LLC, a subsidiary of EDP Renovaveis SA (EDPR), has secured a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Indianapolis-based Wabash Valley Power Association for a northwestern Indiana wind project.
Wabash Valley Power Association, an electric generation and transmission cooperative, will purchase the energy generated from the 75 MW Meadow Lake VI wind farm, which is expected to begin operations in 2018.
With this new arrangement, EDPR says it has signed 1.1 GW worth of PPAs in the U.S. for renewable energy projects to be installed in 2016-2020. The company says this marks 60% of its 1.8 GW of target capacity additions in the U.S. for this period.
