EDF Signs BOP Contract For 200 MW Texas Wind Project

EDF Renewable Services has entered into a contract with Sumitomo Corp. of Americas to provide balance-of-plant (BOP) services for the Mesquite Creek Wind facility.

Currently under construction, the 200 MW project is located in Dawson and Borden counties, Texas. The 118 GE 1.7 MW turbines are expected to be fully operational in the second quarter of 2015.

Under the terms of the agreement, EDF Renewable Services will provide the operations and maintenance services for the facility, including the collection system, substation, transformers, transmission lines, switchgear, equipment, machinery, fiber-optic cables for the SCADA system, control systems, communication systems, foundations, poles, operations and maintenance facility, and roads. EDF Renewable Services' will perform remote services at its Operations Control Center in Houston.
