EDF Extends KCP&L Contract

EDF Renewable Services says Kansas City Power & Light Co. (KCP&L) has extended an operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement for the 100.5 MW Spearville Wind Project and the 48 MW Spearville II Wind Project, both located in Kansas.

The agreement extends the original O&M contract that the KCP&L signed with EDF in September 2006.

According to the contract, EDF will monitor remotely from its operations control center, which centralizes SCADA functions and consolidates multiple vendor environments.

The Spearville wind projects are powered by GE turbine technology, part of more than 3,000 GE wind turbines that are serviced by EDF Renewable Energy.
