EcoEnergy and the Northern Illinois Municipal Power Agency (NIMPA) have signed an agreement for NIMPA to own and/or operate a part of the EcoBryn wind energy facility proposed in Ogle County, Ill.
The proposed EcoBryn facility is expected to generate up to 100 MW of wind energy. Under the agreement, NIMPA will own up to 15 MW of turbines built as part of the EcoBryn project.
‘Working with EcoEnergy is a great way for NIMPA, and its customers, to reduce our carbon footprint and to diversify our power supply portfolio using the environmentally sound choice of wind energy,’ says Gary Larsen, president of NIMPA.
The turbines for the EcoBryn project will come from Acciona Windpower's production facility in West Branch, Iowa.
