Duke Energy Renewables Using Siemens Turbines In Kansas

0

Duke Energy Renewables has chosen Siemens as the turbine supplier for its 168 MW Ironwood Windpower Project in Ford County, Kan. The company is purchasing 73 of Siemens' 2.3 MW machines.

Duke Energy Renewables will build, own and operate the wind farm, and Kansas-based utility Westar Energy will purchase all of the electricity and associated renewable energy credits produced by the site under a 20-year agreement.

Construction of the project is scheduled to begin this fall, and the wind farm will reach commercial operation by mid-2012.
