Construction is progressing at Enel Green Power's 235.2 MW Chisholm View wind project, located in Hunter, Okla.
The project, which features 140 GE 1.68 MW turbines, is scheduled to be completed in December. According to Mortenson, the project's engineering, procurement and construction provider, the area is densely populated with more than 550 underground utility conflicts. Mitigatating potential issues during construction required precise preconstruction planning along with the use of ground-penetrating radar and pot-holing, Mortenson says.
Mortenson's scope of work on Chisholm View includes the construction of 28 miles of public road upgrades, 33 miles of access roads, 140 turbine foundations, turbine erection, 418,840 circuit feet of 34.5 kV underground collection, a 345 kV substation and two met towers.
