Greenwich, Conn.-based Starwood Energy Group Global LLC, a private investment firm focused on energy infrastructure, has sold 49% of its interests in the Horse Creek and Electra wind farms to Munich Re Group.
Horse Creek and Electra, located in Haskell and Wilbarger counties in Texas, are identical, 230 MW wind projects that were constructed by Starwood Energy and began operations in late 2016. The firm was advised by its group-internal asset manager, MEAG, on the transaction.
“The investment makes an attractive and sustainable contribution to the continued geographical diversification and expansion of our U.S. infrastructure portfolio,” comments Holger Kerzel, MEAG’s managing director. “Around 200,000 U.S. households are provided with renewable electricity from these wind farms. We are now looking forward to working with our new partner, Starwood.”
