A single bill will replace 13 separate bills that sought to change Maine's wind power policies, the Portland Press Herald reports.
The single bill, which has not yet been created, seeks to amend the Maine Wind Energy Act. The state legislature's Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee has been sorting through several proposals, including a moratorium on new projects, stricter rules regarding noise and efforts to deal with property values of homes located near wind farms.
