Champion Energy Services has secured a contract to provide electric energy for the Texas A&M University system beginning in September 2011.
Savings to the system are estimated to be $4 million over the 24-month contract period. Savings to Stephen F. Austin State University, also included in the contract, is estimated to be $2 million over the same two-year period.
Fifteen percent of the energy purchased through the contract will be in the form of renewable energy certificates from Texas wind farms.
