The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA), in collaboration with the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), is hosting the International Wind and Radar Forum in Ottawa June 28 and June 29.
Senior government officials, consultants and radar solution providers plan to meet with wind developers and other industry stakeholders from Canada, the U.S. and Europe to analyze current policies, technology and operational tools, as well as emerging research in radar and wind mitigation.
‘The forum is serving to further the existing relationship between key regulatory and industry players, while promoting an international dialogue about responsible, effective tools designed to identify and address any potential conflicts between wind energy and radar,’ says Tom Vinson, senior director of federal regulatory affairs at AWEA.
Keynote speaker Simon Christian, U.K. director for Scottish Power Renewables, will share his experience with wind farm development. Panels and presentations in the areas of operations, research and development, mitigation and government policy are also featured.
