CanTex Energy Corp. has completed the second installment of payments to Wind Tex Energy for the exclusive rights to lease an additional 30,000 acres to the Lynn and Lenorah wind projects, which have a combined capacity of 400 MW.
The company initially plans to apply for an interconnection agreement and use existing transmission line capacity with a Southwest Power Pool power purchase agreement on the Lynn location.
Both projects are expected to be completed in 2013 and will connect at the Long Draw 345 kV switching station in Borden County, Texas.
The project financing will require $25 million for pre-construction and $810 million to construct the wind farms.
The Lynn project, located on 26,000 acres, will have an installed wind energy capacity of 180 MW, and the Lenorah wind project, located on 30,000 acres, will have a capacity of 220 MW.
