The Canadian government has granted Quebec-based research facility Wind Energy TechnoCentre over C$3 million in new funding.

Denis Lebel, minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the regions of Quebec, says the renewal of a three-year funding agreement will enable the TechnoCentre to pursue its mission to create a wind energy industry that is competitive on both a North American and global scale.

‘The wind energy sector is growing rapidly and will become increasingly important in terms of job creation. That is why the government of Canada is pleased to support the activities of the Wind Energy TechnoCentre,’ says Lebel.

According to the minister, the Wind Energy TechnoCentre includes state-of-the-art infrastructure located in a life-size laboratory and helps businesses in the sector develop, test and commercialize their products and processes.
