California ISO: Wind Generation Reaches Record Production

0

The California Independent System Operator Corp. (California ISO) reports wind generation reached 2,432 MW of peak production recently, outpacing last summer's 1,915 MW of peak production.

Renewable integration is playing a larger role in California's electricity supply forecast, according to the California ISO, which along with the California Energy Commission, recently released their 2011 summer electricity assessments.

Demand also continues to be an integral part of the forecast, with the peak appetite for electricity estimated to grow 1.5% over last summer, leading both organizations to encourage energy conservation on high-demand days.
