Canada-based Boralex Inc. has been selected by the Innu Nation as a partner to develop the 200 MW Apuiat wind farm project, located on public land in the municipality of Port-Cartier, in Quebec’s Cote-Nord region.
To implement this major project, Boralex says it will partner with Renewable Energy Systems Canada Inc. (RES) in order to draw on its experience and expertise in the development, design and construction of renewable energy projects.
In the coming weeks, the Innu Nation, Boralex and RES will continue the information process and intent to begin public consultations in mid-October. According to Boralex, this process will help to inform the community and key stakeholders and understand their interests to be considered in the development of the wind farm project.
Boralex develops, builds and operates renewable energy power facilities in Canada, France and the U.S., with an asset base in four power generation types: wind, hydroelectric, thermal and solar.
RES has developed and/or built over 10 GW of renewable energy capacity worldwide and is active in a range of renewable technologies, including onshore wind, solar, energy storage, transmission and demand side management.
