Boralex Inc. has commissioned the 51.7 MW Temiscouata II wind farm, located in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region in Canada. Patrick Lemaire, president and CEO, notes the project was completed on budget and ahead of schedule.
Covered by a 20-year contract with Hydro-Quebec, the project is adjacent to the Temiscouata I community wind farm, in which the Temiscouata RCM is a partner.
Boralex says project construction of Temiscouata II resulted in direct impacts of approximately C$30 million in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region. In addition, during the two-year construction period, up to 200 workers were employed, with an average of 40% originating from the Bas-Saint-Laurent region. Boralex notes it will make approximately C$250,000 annual voluntary contributions to the Temiscouata RCM.
