Boralex Inc. has submitted a proposal for two wind farm projects – in partnership, respectively, with the La Cote-de-Beaupre and Temiscouata regional county municipalities (RCM) – in response to the call for tenders governing the purchase of 250 MW of wind power resulting from community projects.
The La Cote-de-Beaupre community wind farm, proposed by Boralex and the La Cote-de-Beaupre RCM, is located on the Seigneurie de Beaupre land, to which the Seminaire de Quebec has sole title.
The Temiscouata community wind farm project is located on public land in the municipality of Saint-Honore-de-Temiscouata. This project leverages the proximity of transmission lines and the absence of any permanent residences on the proposed site.
Installed capacity for each of the two facilities will be 25 MW. Should those bids be accepted, the wind turbine technology will be provided by Enercon, a Quebec-based wind turbine manufacturer.
