Bladt Industries, an international steel contractor specializing in large-scale and highly complex steel structures, including those for the wind and renewable energy sectors, says it has completed the last load-out of jacket foundations for the Wikinger offshore wind project, located approximately 75 kilometers from the mainland in the German Baltic Sea.
According to the company, the final jacket foundation – jacket No. 41 – was placed on a barge and soon will be heading for its final destination at the project site.
Developed by Iberdrola and owned by ScottishPower Renewables, the 350 MW Wikinger wind farm will feature 70 Adwen 5 MW turbines upon completion.
Priced at EUR 1.4 billion, this wind project is one of Iberdrola’s single largest investment projects this decade, according to the company.
The project is scheduled to come online next year.
