BHE Renewables Selects Vestas For 400 MW Grand Prairie Project In what is its largest-ever order for a single U.S. project, Vestas says it will supply 200 V110-2.0 MW wind turbines for the Grande Prairie wind farm, located in Holt County, Neb.Â

The wind farm is being built by BHE Renewables, an affiliate of conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway Energy, the Warren Buffet-led holding company that also owns PacifiCorp, MidAmerican Energy Co and NV Energy. The company's business units own wind projects representing more than 4 GW of installed capacity across the western and midwestern U.S.

According to Vestas, the contract includes the supply and commissioning of the wind turbines and a five-year service agreement. Deliveries are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2016.

When the Grand Prairie project is completed at the end of 2016, it will be the largest wind farm in Nebraska.
