BD Medical's Sandy, Utah, facility and Billerica, Mass.-based Millipore Corp. have joined the Center for Resource Solutions' Green-e Marketplace after purchasing a total of 49,000 MWh of Green-e Energy certified renewable energy – enough to power their facilities for an entire year. They have been granted the use of the Green-e Marketplace certified logo to demonstrate their environmental leadership.
BD Medical is one of three business segments of BD. The Sandy facility joined Green-e Marketplace after purchasing Green-e Energy certified renewable energy to meet 100% of its annual electricity needs. It purchased 39,000 MWh from Rocky Mountain Power's Blue Sky Energy program, which sources power from wind.
Millipore purchased 10,000 MWh of Green-e Energy certified renewable energy from carbon solutions company 3Degrees to offset 100% of the electricity use in its Temecula and Anderson, Calif.; St. Charles, Mo.; and Danvers, Mass-based facilities.
BD Medical and Millipore will display the Green-e logo, the national symbol for renewable energy excellence, to help customers identify products and services produced using certified renewable energy.
