Madison, Wis.-based RMT Inc., a renewable energy developer and engineering and construction firm, has been awarded balance-of-plant engineering and construction work for Basin Electric Power Cooperative's PrairieWinds I and Minot Wind II farms in Ward County, N.D. The two projects are expected to generate a combined nameplate capacity of 120 MW.
RMT will be providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) to support the installation of 77 1.5 MW GE SLE turbines at the PrairieWinds I site and three 1.5 MW GE SLE turbines at the Minot Wind II site.
The civil and electrical infrastructure includes roads, crane walks and pads, turbine foundations and underground collector systems. RMT is also responsible for tower erection and construction of a 6,500 square-foot operations and maintenance building.
Construction commenced at the PrairieWinds I and Minot Wind II facilities in early August.
