Basin Electric Power Cooperative has agreed to purchase the output of the 98 MW Campbell County Wind Farm, located in South Dakota.

The Campbell County wind farm is co-owned by Granite Falls, Minn.-based Fagen and the principals of Aberdeen, S.D.-based Dakota Plains Energy. The wind farm is expected to be operational in 2015.

According to Basic Electric, the power purchase agreement (PPA) pushes the utility's renewable generating portfolio to 1.1 GW. In November, Basin Electric announced that it would enter into two PPAs totaling 278 MW of installed capacity for a pair of North Dakota wind projects.
