Baryonyx Submits Application For Three Texas Offshore Wind Farms

Baryonyx Corp. says it has submitted an application to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Galveston, Texas, for permits to construct offshore wind farms within state waters off the coast of Texas.

The company has over 67,000 acres of submerged lands under lease from the Texas General Land Office across three sites between Corpus Christi and Brownsville. If fully developed, these sites could have an installed capacity of up to 3 GW, according to the company.

‘We regard this as a significant first step toward realizing the development of offshore wind off the coast of Texas, and we will coordinate closely with the Corps and the statutory agencies through the permitting process,’ says Ian Hatton, CEO of Baryonyx.
