AWWI Releases Brief On Eagle Protection Regulations

0

The American Wind Wildlife Institute (AWWI) has released its new Issue Brief on Eagle Conservation, Research and Wind Energy.

The brief explains some of the regulations related to eagle conservation and wind energy development, including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's (FWS) 2009 Eagle Rule and the proposed extension of the permit duration.

The AWWI says the brief also covers the purpose of the FWS' Eagle Conservation Plan Guidance, intended to help wind developers maintain compliance with permits for eagle take under the 2009 rule.

Finally, the brief outlines a few of the ongoing research priorities for eagles in the context of wind energy development.

The brief can be downloaded here.
