Availon Inc., a provider of parts and engineering services to the North American wind power industry, and United Equipment Accessories Inc. (UEA), a manufacturer of wind turbine and other custom components for motion applications worldwide, say they have formed a partnership for the design, manufacture and distribution of slip rings.
The companies say the partnership will allow Availon to sell replacement components for aftermarket use in wind turbines. The stock will be kept in Availon's Iowa and Texas locations, and Availon and UEA will work together to facilitate the development of new UEA products and aftermarket solutions for many types of wind turbines.
According to the companies, UEA slip rings offer design versatility as component kit rings or as completed, ready-to-mount assemblies with optional pre-wired harnesses. A wide selection of circuitry is available, with many combinations of amperage and voltage (AC or DC). UEA slip rings come in a variety of bore sizes, ranging from 0.5 inches to 14 inches.
