Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-based Atlantic Energy Solutions Inc. has been awarded a contract with STV Architects to perform consultation services for the NYC Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA). Under the terms of the contract, Atlantic Energy will have a broad range of responsibilities, including power/load calculations, wind turbine assessment, solar photovoltaic design and specifications, as well as solar photovoltaic performance training and testing.

‘We are thrilled to have been awarded this contract and to be a part of MTA's current expansion,’ says Atlantic Energy CEO Tim Brock. ‘The need for energy efficiency has moved to the forefront in recent years, and this contract is evidence of the growth our industry is currently experiencing.’

MTA is expected to add 11 more facilities to the project upon completion of the Far Rockaway bus depot this month. MTA has made a commitment to evaluate the feasibility of providing 14% of the power at the depot from wind turbines through a request for proposals process.
