Another Wind Order For Vestas Through Mexico Auction

As part of Mexico’s energy auction, Vestas has received an order for the supply and installation of 27 V136-3.45 MW turbines for a 93 MW wind park in the northeastern state of Tamaulipas, Mexico.

In just four months, Vestas has received almost 600 MW in orders as a result of last year’s auction – accounting for 53% of the total wind capacity allocated.

The contract also includes a short-term Active Output Management service contract. Delivery of the wind turbines is expected for the third quarter of 2018, and commissioning is planned for 2019.

Vestas says it installed Mexico’s first commercial wind turbine back in 1994. Now, the company has more than 1.5 GW of wind turbines either installed or under construction in the country.
