TransCanada has announced the completion of the first phase of the Gros-Morne wind farm, which is part of the larger, five-phase 590 MW Cartier Wind Energy Project being constructed in various communities in Quebec.
All of the power produced by the Cartier project, which is owned by TransCanada Corp. (62%) and Innergex (38%), is sold to Hydro-Quebec under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
The completion of phase two of the Gros-Morne wind farm – the final phase of the Cartier project – will provide an additional 111 MW by December 2012.
