American Wind Action (AWA), an independent, bipartisan, pro-wind energy group, has launched a $50,000 radio and digital video advertising campaign in support of Rick Yoder for the Omaha Public Power District Board of Directors.
According to the energy group, AWA’s ad campaign will begin immediately and run through Election Day in Omaha, Neb.
AWA is a newly formed independent and bipartisan organization that has been active across the country educating the public on federal and state issues relevant to the development and benefits of wind energy.
Sam Enfield and Jeff Clark, two members of AWA’s bipartisan board of directors, issued a joint statement supporting Yoder: “We are pleased to back Rick Yoder’s bid to the OPPD Board because he understands that renewable energy, specifically wind power, will help lower energy costs for Nebraskans and boost the local economy now and for generations to come. He knows wind energy will create new jobs, generate new revenue and bring new investment to Nebraska.”
“Nebraskans also need Rick’s business experience to oversee the decomissioning of the Fort Calhoun nuclear power plant in a cost-efficient way while also focusing on Nebraska’s future energy needs. Rick is an expert in renewable energy and he understands how to strategically fill the economic void created by the closure of Fort Calhoun’s nuclear power plant. We are pleased to endorse Rick Yoder and urge voters to support him in November,” state Enfield and Clark.
