Turbine maker Alstom will supply eight wind turbines to the Pontal 2A wind project in southern Brazil. The contract, worth around EUR 26 million, is with Enerplan, a power company from the Brazilian group Oleoplan.
According to Alstom, this is the second contract with Enerplan, which also ordered 10 units last year for the first wind farm of the Pontal project. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2015.
The nacelles of the wind turbines will be manufactured by the company's plant in the Bahia state, and the towers will be produced in Canoas, the company notes.
