Allyn International Services Inc., headquartered in Fort Myers, Fla., has created a 3PL department within its logistics services division. This team will initially focus on third-party transport and logistics, mainly servicing clients with specialized cargo requirements. A range of trucking, rail, air and ocean transport services will be available, the company says.
The 3PL department will use Allyn's proprietary transportation management system, ALA, to execute all shipments. According to Allyn, ALA's Web-based capabilities include routing optimization, shipment tracking, event management, documentation creation, invoice audit, reporting and warehouse administration.
‘A clear indicator of the market demand for 3PL services is evident by the amount of shipments we have handled in a relatively short time since forming the team,’ notes Alfredo Rodriguez, team manager, North America, at Allyn 3PL.
