The Alberta World Cup cross-country event in Canmore, Alberta, will be powered with 100% renewable energy from Bullfrog Power.
Through the agreement, Bullfrog Power will ensure electricity sourced from wind and hydro is injected onto the regional grid to match the amount of power consumed at the event, which runs Feb. 4-7. The agreement includes the greening of all active space used during the competition, including setup and race areas.
The 2010 Alberta World Cup has also pledged a Zero Waste initiative that includes the recycling of all wires used for television cabling and the printing of marketing materials on recycled paper.
