Additional Wind Turbines Enter Commercial Operation At PGE’s Wild Horse Facility

An additional 22 wind turbines have entered commercial operation at Puget Sound Energy's (PSE) Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility in Kittitas County, Wash.

The new turbines join the facility's original 127 turbines, which entered service in December 2006. The Wild Horse Wind Facility has raised its capacity from 229 MW to 273 MW.

‘The wind and sun of Kittitas County are tremendous natural resources, and by harnessing these resources, we can benefit the environment by generating clean power and also boost the local economy of Ellensburg, Cle Elum and central Washington,’ says Kimberly Harris, executive vice president and chief resource officer for PSE.

The facility is also expanding its solar array.
