Acciona Windpower has announced it will supply 66 MW for a wind farm in northeast Brazil to an undisclosed customer. The contract includes the transport, installation and start-up of the wind turbines and the maintenance service for the turbines over five years.
The AW125/3000 turbines, each with a 3 MW rated capacity and 125-meter rotor diameter, will be assembled in the local plant that Acciona Windpower opened in Simoes Filho last December. Acciona says it will produce the concrete turbine towers – 12 of them are 120 meters high and 10 of them are 100 meters high – on a site close to the wind farm.
With this contract, Acciona Windpower says its sales in Brazil have reached 1,185 MW, and the company has a workforce of more than 300 people in the country.
