ACCIONA Energía has created an immersive virtual reality (VR) experience that allows users to make a visit to a wind farm without having to travel to the site.
The product – which the company is presenting in public for the first time at this week’s WINDPOWER 2016 – was developed by ACCIONA’s innovation department together with ACCIONA Energía.
The system, which includes VR goggles and joystick-type controls, offers users a virtual tour of a wind project. Through the imaginary, 3D visit, they can go up the inside of a wind tower in an elevator up to the nacelle, look around the interior, interact with the different elements and go outside the nacelle for a view of the landscape.
