ABB and China-based BYD Co. Ltd. have announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop new solutions for energy storage. The scope of the collaboration will include grid-connected energy storage, renewable energy integration, microgrid applications and marine applications.
ABB says its products and technology for grid storage, electric vehicle charging and integrated marine systems, combined with BYD's knowledge in battery technology, can help broadly address worldwide energy storage requirements.
