A2SEA To Install Turbines For 714 MW East Anglia ONE

A2SEA has signed a contract to install 102 Siemens 7 MW turbines from the load-out port in Great Yarmouth, in the U.K., for the 714 MW East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm, located approximately 45 kilometers off the Suffolk Coast in the southern North Sea.

According to the company, its offshore installation vessel Sea Challenger will carry out the installation work.

“A2SEA is very proud to be part of building this extensive offshore wind farm. We have formerly worked with ScottishPower Renewables and Siemens Wind Power on West of Duddon Sands [offshore wind farm], and I am confident that providing our competent and experienced crew both onshore and offshore will ensure a project delivered both on time [and] on budget – and, most importantly, in a safe manner,” says Jens Frederik Hansen, CEO at A2SEA.

East Anglia ONE is owned by ScottishPower Renewables, and once commissioned in early 2020, the facility will provide green energy for well over 500,000 homes in the U.K.
