Suzlon has announced its latest 1.5 MW wind turbine, the S8X, which the company says is specifically designed for low-wind sites.

The S8X, which is scheduled to be launched later this year, is also designed specifically for the Indian market, where the majority of potential lies in low- to medium-wind sites. The machine features rotors with diameters of 86.5 meters and 89 meters and a tower height of 90 meters.

In addition, the S8X is designed to operate in high temperatures and to meet the current and future grid requirements in India.
