Wind Energy Services Partners With Component Manufacturing Facilities

Wind Energy Services Co. (WES), a provider of composite repair and maintenance services for wind farm operations, says it has established partnering agreements with three turbine component manufacturing facilities, which are all entities of the Molded Fiber Glass Cos. (MFG).

Under the agreement, WES will have co-located satellite service centers at MFG's manufacturing plants in Gainesville, Texas; Adelanto, Calif.; and Aberdeen, S.D.

These new service centers will be staffed with mobile service crews. Materials and equipment will be deployed from the regional location closest to a customer's site, WES explains. All three factories are located in areas with high wind farm concentrations.

For blades and other composite components that require more extensive repair than can be effectively accomplished in the field, the option of factory service is now available through the satellite service centers, the company adds. All three centers are now open for factory blade repairs, with projects under way in Aberdeen.

WES says replacement parts for older turbines also can be supplied by these entities.

"We have the ability to build a mold and composite parts quickly to match the original models and are organized to accept jobs of all sizes at our Adelanto plant," says Tony Drake, general manager of MFG West.
