On Tuesday, Vineyard Wind LLC celebrated the opening of its permanent Boston office.
Vineyard Wind’s new, larger workplace is located in Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood. It will accommodate the company’s growing staff and provide a range of services, including contractor management, regulatory affairs, financing and similar activities to support the construction of Vineyard Wind’s proposed Massachusetts offshore wind farm, as well as other projects in earlier stages of development.
The 800 MW wind farm remains on schedule to begin onshore construction in 2019 and become operational by 2022, the developer maintains. Vineyard Wind is a 50/50 joint venture between Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Avangrid Renewables.
The opening event featured a ribbon-cutting and remarks by Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, AVANGRID CEO James P. Torgerson and Vineyard Wind CEO Lars Pedersen.
