Carrie Cullen Hitt has joined Vineyard Offshore as senior director, grid and transmission policy. She will be a member of the company’s external affairs team, also supporting its state government and regulatory affairs.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Carrie over the past decade, and she is one of the most accomplished professionals in the energy industry,” says Christian Scorzoni, vice president and head of external affairs at Vineyard Offshore.

Hitt’s addition will be vital for the company as it begins to develop more than 6 GW of projects on existing leases off New York, Massachusetts and California and prepares for future lease auctions, notes Scorzoni.

“We stand at the threshold of unleashing a powerful new clean energy resource for North America, and Vineyard Offshore is at the forefront,” says Hitt. “I look forward to helping Vineyard Offshore make it happen.”

Involved in the energy industry for more than three decades, Hitt has worked in offshore wind since 2018, initially leading the National Offshore Wind R&D Consortium. More recently she served as lead of U.S. transmission strategy for Equinor.

Hitt also served as president for New Hampshire Transmission, a NextEra Energy transmission company, and was in senior market development roles for NextEra, New Energy Ventures (now Constellation) and the Solar Energy Industries Association.

Vineyard Offshore is leading the development of three lease areas owned by funds managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. In addition, Vineyard Offshore is a joint-development partner of Vineyard Wind 1, the first offshore wind project in the nation, currently under construction.
